Yogyakarta, November 17, 2023 – Hawari Nadal Fathi, a student from the 2022 cohort of the English Language Education Department Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), has achieved an outstanding success by securing 1st place in the Musabaqoh Hifdzil Qur’an competition (Memorization of 30 JUZ PUTRA) during the Sports, Science, and Arts Week held by the University of Muhammadiyah Riau on September 14, 2023.

This event took place online, with the University of Muhammadiyah Riau as the organizer. A total of 366 participants from 47 different higher education institutions participated, adding excitement to the competition. Musabaqoh Hifdzil Qur’an was one of the categories that showcased the participants’ abilities to memorize the entire Qur’an, specifically focusing on the 30 Juz for male participants.

Hawari demonstrated dedication and hard work in the face of tough competition. Hawari managed to achieve remarkable success, bringing glory to UMY on the national competition stage. During this occasion, Hawari expressed his hope that every step he takes in the future will be facilitated and strengthened. His success serves as an inspiration for his peers at UMY, proving that with determination and effort, students can achieve commendable accomplishments.

This achievement is also a tangible evidence that UMY continues to encourage its students to excel in various fields, not only academically but also in religious activities.
