The election of most outstanding student always attracts every student. It seems to be a stage for everyone to show their capability, knowledge, and their innovation. Hence, this is the prestige event for every student. PBI UMY with its students always tries to participate to be the winner of this agenda both in faculty level and university level. Particularly in faculty level, PBI UMY’s students have been the winner since 2019. Lately, the Winner of the election of most outstanding students 2022 in Faculty level is Gita Fitri Rachmadani, PBI UMY’s student batch 2019.

Furthermore, Gita as her friend calling, has been the winner for two years in a row for 2021 and 2022. This year, Gita proposed an idea in her Karya Tulis Ilmiah (KTI) with the tittle “Learning Style Placement Test sebagai Upaya Optimalisasi Potensi Belajar Siswa di Indonesia”. Her idea is focusing on how to identify students’ learning style to articulate students’ learning potential. Moreover, in her proposal, Gita mentioned that by conducting Learning Style Placement Test, teacher will be able to determine the method used in the classroom. Consequently, students will find their way to keep up with the on-going knowledge.

In constructing her idea, she collaborated for at least two weeks with her supervisor, Mariska Intan Sari, S.S., M.A who is also one of lecturers in PBI UMY. Her idea is also in line with the Sustainable Goals Developments (SDGs) focusing on quality education. “I do believe education is the best weapon to change the world, therefore, we have to optimize students’ capability, we cannot generalize them, we need to identify them deeply to find their best capability,” said Gita.

Besides, after finishing her idea, she has to present it to the adjudicators along with other participants. Finally, the faculty decide her to be the first winner of this election for the second time. This fact also will bring Gita to the University level which will be conducted starting from the end of the January until the beginning of the February 2022.

Lastly, she hopes that this award will trigger other students to be more competitive and willing to join competition. “Above all, competition will make us to be more competitive and all good things for us” Ended Gita. Super Extraordinary, Gita! (Mil)
