FESTPRENEUR, or Entrepreneur Festival, is a prestigious event that houses interesting business ideas from students. This festival is held annually by the English Education Study Program (PBI) in the Entrepreneurship course. However, 2 years back, this activity was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This, of course, is quite heartbreaking for young entrepreneurs.

However, on July 2, 2022, PBI held the festival again. The news was welcomed by students who couldn’t wait to showcase their ideas. Hardian, one of the festival participants, commented that this activity is very beneficial for students because it can provide an experience to start a business.

The organizing committee, especially the Head of the PBI Study Program, Andi Wirantaka, S.Pd., M.Hum. hopes that by holding a festival like this it can create a business mentality and equip students with soft skills in entrepreneurship. The lecturer of the related course, Puthut Ardhianto, S.Pd., M.Pd. also hopes that the student ideas displayed can be glimpsed directly by Startup and Business Incubator (SEBI) so that they can be funded until the business is finished. “It’s not about the idea, it’s about to make the idea come true” continued by Puthut.

Through this festival, PBI strives to produce young entrepreneurs every year. Certainly, from the students’ business ideas, there are at least one or two ideas that are realized into businesses. This, of course, will have a positive impact, both on the name of PBI and Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. (saa)
