The opening of the selection of outstanding students (PILMAPRES) has begun. As we know, the selection of outstanding students is a prestigious event for all students at all universities in Indonesia. The purpose of this event is to create students who are able to balance between hard skills and soft skills so that they can be an ideal role for all students on campus. Therefore, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held this activity to identify and reward students who have actively participated in competitions, organizations and worked both at the regional and international levels. 

After successfully introducing the selection of outstanding students on December 4, 2021, UMY has officially opened the registration of selection starting from the faculty stage to the university stage. Registration starts on December 1 – 18, 2021 for the collection of files at the faculty level. Then, 20 – 31 December 2021 for the selection of outstanding students at the faculty level continued SUPERCAMP, which is special training for university-level finalists. After that, there will be a skill test and English proficiency and language test on February 14 – 17, 2022 and the GRAND FINAL of PILMAPRES on February 25 – 26, 2022. Furthermore, for the requirements of PILMAPRES, UMY requires its participants to have a GPA of more than 3.00, have written ideas (Gagasan Tertulis), attach achievements (Capaian Prestasi), and this event is for all students with maximum of semester 6th students. 

Furthermore, the English Language Education Department UMY (PBI UMY) has always managed to send its representatives in this prestigious event. Not only that, for two consecutive times, PBI UMY managed to get the best presenter in this event where the best presenter in PILMAPRES 2020 was Sibakhul Milad Malik Hidayatulloh and PILMAPRES 2021 was Gita Fitri. Therefore, it is hoped that at this time PBI UMY should manage to send its representatives to show their students’ capability to compete.  Later, it is expected that PBI UMY’s students can be one of the best participants in the selection of university-level outstanding students who will later represent UMY at the next level. Besides, this event is a proving ground that PBI UMY deserves to be a qualified study program with hard skills and soft skills owned by its students. (Mil)
