The new semester will be started on September 9 with new incoming students. PBI UMY prepared to welcome all new students in Masa Ta’aruf (MATAF) PBI UMY 2019 that will be held on Wednesday, 28th August, 2019 at the 3rd floor of PAscasarjana Building. The event was organized by English Department Student Association (EDSA).
Before coming to the main event which is Masa Ta’aruf (MATAF), the all new students batch 2019 must attend the technical meeting to make sure that they know all the regulation of MATAF PBI UMY 2019. The technical meeting was held at Tuesday, 20th August, 2019 at Amphiteather E6, starting from 1 p.m to 4.30 pm. It was explaining the regulation, do’s and do not’s, timeline of MATAF PBI UMY, and about reading date.
Different from the previous MATAF PBI, now there is a “reading date”. It aims to build reading habit among PBI students. In addition, technology elements is also included in the Mataf. Students are allowed to use their smartphone to interact and follow the event well. The committee have prepared to use a web 2.0 tool that usually they use in the teaching and learning process.
“I thank all the committee members who have prepared this technical meeting well. All new students are great because all of them are on time to come to this event today. I hope not only for today but, in the main day of MATAF PBI 2019, everything runs well. This Masa Ta’aruf is a space to get to know each other, so welcome to PBI UMY!”, noted Muhammad Fany Arynsa, the chief of MATAF PBI 2019.
