PBI UMY’s EDSA Elected A New Chief

Saturday, May 4th – Sunday, 5th May 2019, for the ninth times, English Student Department Association (EDSA) Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held a general assembly at Pendopo TK Gunung Djati, Tamantirto, Kasihan, Bantul. There were 66 EDSA staff members and orgnanizers during the academic year 2018/2019.
The rundown of the event included accountability report which was first delivered by EDSA’s chief, treasurers and secretary of the academic year 2018/2019. The second accountability report was delivered by coordinators of EDSA’s sectors. These sectors included Development English Academic Sector (DEAS), Mass Media Sector (MSS), Self-Potential Development Sector (SEPDES), Cultural and Art Studies Sector (CASS), Religion and Social Awareness Sector (RSS), and Entrepreneurship Studies Sector (ENSYS). The next item of the agenda was discussion forum on Rules and Regulations of EDSA’s general assembly and AD/ART. Finally, the next event was the election for the next chief of EDSA period 2019/2020. There were three EDSA’s chief candidates; they are Graciella Indrawari Suhargo, Sibakhul Milad Malik Hidayatulloh, and Mutiara Ayu Hasnia. The results of the voting showed that Sibakhul Milad Malik Hidayatulloh, or usually called by Milad, received the highest vote and therefore was elected as the new chief of EDSA period 2019/2020.
“I hope that the upcoming EDSA’s period 2019/2020, there will be no gap between each batch. I also hope that there will be an increasing power and awareness of our shared responsibilities. Remember that being chosen as the organizer of EDSA is not easy because you will have some duties. Therefore, it’s not about showing up. Last, I hope EDSA can embrace all of students in PBI UMY. Be better, EDSA!” Wildan Kharisma, the chief of EDSA period 2018/2019 shared her last message as EDSA’s chief.
Milad, the newly elected EDSA’s chief mentioned in his winning speech, “This is an honour for me to be a chief of a great organization. I hope that as a new chief, I could manage this organization well and guide the other members to be better. Thank you for choosing me. Let’s start with Bismillah.”
Congratulation for Milad and the new BPH EDSA period 2019/2020. We wish that EDSA’s will show even more better performance in the future!
