Cultivating Students' Interest in Research through Research Dissemination Forum
English Language Education Department conducted research dissemination forum on Saturday, March 3 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. at KH. Ibrahim Building. In this forum, fourteen lecturers of the department presented their research before students of Batch 2015 and 2016. Approximately 200 students attended presentation in 5 classrooms in which three lecturers presented their study in each classroom. The purpose of this forum was to showcase research works done by the department lecturers so that students of batch 2015 and 2016 can get some ideas for their future undergraduate thesis later on.
The event was divided into 2 sessions, the first is the research presentation and the second is the Q & A session. In the first session, for 15 – 20 minutes, the lecturers presented the results of their research in front of all participants covering research background, literature, methodology, finding and discussion, and conclusions. In the second session, participants asked questions about the study as well as other things related to lecturers’ research experiences.
One PBI student of Batch 2016, Khintan mentioned, ” I am still confused to determine the topic for my thesis. Therefore, this event is very useful for me. ”
