Preparing Senior Students’ Critical Thinking through Undergraduate Thesis Writing Workshop

On monday (8/07), PBI UMY held Undergraduate Thesis Writing Workshop at Amphiteather E7. The agenda was held by PBI UMY for its seniors. Almost all students of batch 2016 joined the workshop. For three days, from Monday to Wednesday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m, joined several series of agenda. The first session was an overviewing of undergraduate thesis writing delivered by Sri Rejeki Murtiningsih, P.hD, the head of English Language Education Department. Afterwards, the next session was sharing session with two alumnus who have just graduated, Atta Rilysia and Ridho Yulianto. The final session before starting their write up was the announcement of their thesis supervisors.
Approximately there were 80 students join this agenda. Students were enthusiast give their attention. Some of them questioned some curious things. Mariska Intan Sari, M.A, the chief of this agenda committee mentioned, “…by joining this agenda, hopefully students will be more ready to prepare their undergraduate thesis.”
This agenda aimed for guiding students to be ready and clearly understand what, how and why they should write undergraduate thesis later on as their last duty as students before graduate. Wildan Kharisma one of the participants this event mentioned, “I am really thankful to PBI UMY because they provide this kind of workshop, hopefully after this we can do our undergraduate thesis as good as they explain and be a good student for PBI UMY.”
