Enhancing PBI UMY Students’ English Proficiency by Conducting TOEFL Week

From April 8th to April 13th, PBI UMY held TOEFL week for its students. TOEFL week is an annual agenda for the department in which students take English proficiency test and they joined a series of English proficiency training. All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors took the pre-test. Meanwhile, only the freshmen who take the post-test and join the trainings. This agenda aims to enhance and measure students’ English proficiency.
During the three days trainings, all freshmen participate in trainings to enhance their listening skill (day 1), structure and written expression knowledge (day 2) and reading skill (day 3). All PBI UMY lecturers take part as the instructors for the training. Each session lasted for approximately 4 credits (3 hours 20 minutes)
Jauza Nabila, a freshman mentioned, “I am so thankful with this agendasince I could get feedback on my current English proficiency.” She also hoped that this agenda will students’ knowledge and English skills.
