Building PBI’s Entrepreneurial Atmosphere through Festpreneur 2018

PBI 2017 students attended Festival of Entrepreneurship on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at UMY Boga. The Festival of Entrepreneurship or Festpreneur, is an annual PBI UMY program of Entrepreneurship course where students could turn their ideas into some products that have selling points. This Festpreneur 2018 carries a theme “It’s not about ideas, It’s about making ideas happen” and has successfully displayed 39 products by 2017 PBI students. The event was conducted from 9 am to 3 pm and was attended by students and lecturers of English Language Department and beyond. What makes this event more special is the invitation of Mohammad Hamli, founder of the English Café and Sayida Ralia Mawalia, founder of Setuan as guest stars.
Thirty nine products that was displayed include clothes, coffee filters, tote bags, applications and etc. Many visitors from other departments came and ordered some products. The lecturers of PBI UMY also appreciated the hard work of the students by buying some of their products. In the talkshow session Mohammad Hamli gave advice to students that the key to success in becoming an entrepreneur is selling products that were needed by other people. At the end of the event students are welcome to sing several songs as the celebration of the last meeting entrepreneurship course.
Puthut Ardianto, M.Pd., the coordinator of Festpreneur 2018 said that with the Festival of Entrepreneurship, he hoped that students could prepare themselves to become entrepreneurs. A student, Meirita Rahmi Azizi said that the Festpreneur event was very beneficial for students because actually students have many interesting ideas, but there was no place to distributes their idea.
